FAQ

Your questions, straight answers

What people ask us on the phone, written down once and for all: prices, timelines, what belongs to you, what happens to your site after launch. If your question is not here, call us — we answer the same way.

How much does it cost?

Everything is on the Packages page: three build packages, from the smallest to the most complete, and the options beside them. The amount you see is the amount you pay. If something is custom, we tell you before we start.

How long does it take?

Ten days, from the moment we have received your information: copy, photos, logo, access. Not from signature. That is why we ask on the first call what you already have, and help you gather the rest.

Word of mouth already works for me. What does a website actually do?

Word of mouth does not stop at the recommendation. When someone gives your name to a friend, the first thing that friend does is type it into their phone. What they find right then decides whether they call you or keep looking.

A website is what answers for you while you are on a job site: what you do, where you do it, what it looks like when it is done right, and how to reach you. It does not replace your reputation — it backs it up.

Why not just use a $20-a-month template?

You can, and for some people it is enough. Two things to know first.

One: a template is built for everybody, so it speaks about nobody in particular. Not your towns, not your services, not the way you work — and that is exactly what your customers and Google are looking for.

Two: you are renting. The day you stop paying, the site is gone and you leave with nothing. With us you pay once, the files are yours, and hosting is an option you can leave while taking your site with you.

I have no copy and no photos.

That is true of most of our clients. We write the copy with you, from what you tell us, and we find or prepare the images that fit. You do not need to show up with a finished folder.

How do I know when my current site needs to be redone?

A few signs that do not lie: it is hard to read on a phone, it takes a while to open, it still shows an old number or services you no longer offer, you cannot change a single line without calling someone — or you simply do not feel like showing it.

The simplest test is the best one: open it on your phone in front of someone who does not know you. If you feel the need to explain, it is time.

If you rebuild my site, do I lose my place on Google?

Not if it is done properly. Before touching anything, we record the addresses of your current pages and which ones actually bring you people. Pages that existed keep their address where possible; the ones we move are redirected to the new address, so neither Google nor your old links land on nothing. Titles and descriptions follow, and we watch the first weeks after launch.

In practice a faster, better-structured site usually ends up ranking better than before. But we will not promise you a number.

What does a website absolutely need today?

The essentials, and the list is short: open fast, read as well on a phone as on a computer, say in five seconds what you do and where, let someone call in one tap, have one page per service instead of a catch-all, run on HTTPS, and stay usable by someone who sees poorly or navigates by keyboard.

The rest — form, gallery, booking, blog — gets added when it genuinely serves your trade. We will not sell you a feature because it is fashionable.

Is artificial intelligence changing how a website should be built?

It mostly changes how people search. More and more people ask an assistant instead of digging through ten pages of results — and the assistant answers by reading websites.

To be quoted, yours has to be clear: headings that mean something, your services and towns written out in full, contact details identical everywhere, structured data a machine can read. This is not special treatment: it is exactly what makes a site pleasant for a human. We build it that way by default.

Will I be first on Google?

Nobody can honestly promise that. What we do: a solid local SEO structure — headings, separate service pages, consistent contact details, speed, phone display, structured data. The final ranking belongs to Google, but you start with the right foundations.

Is Web Care mandatory?

No. It is an option, like the GPS Package. Without it, you leave with your files and host them wherever you like — host, domain name, certificate, backups and edits become your responsibility. With it, we handle all of that and you never touch it. Both paths are laid out on the Packages page.

Does the site really belong to me?

Yes, as soon as it is paid for. The files are yours, the domain is in your name, and nothing is locked into an in-house system. Any developer can pick it up tomorrow morning. We think that is normal.

Will I have to redo everything in two years?

No. Your site is built in HTML, CSS and JavaScript — the three languages every browser understands, and will keep understanding for a long time. There is no complicated system underneath, so nothing goes out of date and nothing forces you into a paid upgrade.

Adding a page, changing prices, publishing a new project: each is done on its own, without starting over. A well-built site ages like a good tool, not like a subscription.

Will the site be in French and English?

Both languages are included in the build, at no extra cost. If your customers are French-speaking only and you would rather have one version, that is fine too — we will not force anything on you.

How do I choose who to trust with my site?

Ask three questions, and pay attention to how they are answered. One: does the site belong to me, files included, even if it is no longer hosted with you? Two: what exactly is included, and what costs extra? Three: who writes the copy, and who fixes it if I disagree?

Be wary of two things: a guaranteed first position on Google, and a price that shifts along the way. Ask to see live sites, not just pictures. And if all you hear about is design, with no question about how you find your customers, it is not the right fit.

Why do you limit the number of projects?

Because a well-made site takes attention, and attention does not divide by twenty. When our calendar is full, we give you a real start date. You would rather have that than a yes we cannot keep.

Do you build online stores?

It is possible, but it falls outside the packages. A store needs its own assessment: catalogue, payments, shipping, taxes. We give you a clear quote first.

Your question is not here?

Write it to us. Same kind of answer: plain language, no jargon — and we add it to this page if others ask it too.
